International Graduate Program at Saitama
University, the Department of Civil and Environmental
Engineering (DCEE) offers highly qualified students the opportunity to pursue
graduate studies and conduct research in the field of Civil and
Environmental Engineering leading to a Master of Engineering Degree or
a Doctor of Engineering/Philosophy Degree.
This program starts in either April or
September and requires a standard two-year residency for the
completion of a master’s degree and three years for a doctoral
degree. Class instructions, research supervision and guidance are conducted
in English.

Eligibility Criteria
- Have a master’s degree or equivalent research experience for applying to the doctoral degree program; a bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience for applying to the master’s degree program.

- Not more than 35 years old at the time of application.
- Agree to return to your home country after completing the program.
- Not be enrolled in graduate degree programs.
- Not be a staff of ADB-JSP designated institutions.
- Be in good mental and physical health.
Financial Coverage
Each year scholarship is
granted to about ten new master’s students. ADB-JSP scholarship
cover tuition and academic fees, a monthly allowance ranging
from 147,000 to 148,000 yen and round-trip economic airfare from
the awardee’s home country. The ADB-JSP scholarship is granted for up to two
years based on the satisfactory performance of the student. The scholarship
is not extendable beyond two years.
The ADB-JSP scholarship
requires the awardees to return to their home countries upon completion of
study to contribute to their country’s development.

- Copy of Degree Certificate and Transcript of 4 years of the undergraduate degree 2year master degree program
- Two Letters of Recommendation.
- English Proficiency Requirement: TOEFL (computer-based: 213 or TOEFL: 80), or IELTS: 5.5 (writing and overall) or equivalent
- Work certificate provided by the employer.
- Income statement. If married, please submit the spouse income statement; otherwise, parent income statement
