Purpose:
Head Office-based position which will lead troubleshooting of rotating equipment along with Electrical & Control system for equipment including Waukesha Engines with ESM-1 / ESM-2 (L36GSI, H24SE, 7044GSI, L5774LT, L5794GSI, 16V275GL+), Ariel Compressors (JGK4, JGJ2, JGJ4, KBZ4, KBT4), Gemini Compressor (FS604), Ajax Compressors (DPC-2801), CAT Genset (G3406, G3412, G3520H, G3516A), Diesel Genset (C32, GEP 275-4, G3406C), Gas Turbines (Rolls Royce 501 KB5, Saturn 10), Pumps (Centrifugal, Reciprocating, Rotary PD, multi-stage, seal / non-seal), Blowers (Syndyne), Fin Fan Coolers, etc. Possess hands-on experience to steer Overhaul activities of critical rotating equipment including an arrangement of spares & services. Should have a working knowledge of Predictive Maintenance technologies (Windrock, Vibration Analysis, Thermography, Oil Analysis, Acoustic Emission Testing, etc.). Develop Maintenance Strategies, Plans, and Checklists in coordination with Maintenance Planner & Field Maintenance Engineers. Ensure availability of required resources (4M’s) including manpower, material, machine & methodology for smooth execution of maintenance activities.Responsibilities
- Analyze equipment behavior, perform and participate in bad actor elimination studies, Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA), incident investigations, audits, and benchmark studies (RAM & RCM).
- Provide input to remaining life determination and extension, obsolescence studies, and asset life cycle strategies.
- Lead troubleshooting of rotating equipment including Waukesha Engines with ESM-1 / ESM-2 (L36GSI, H24SE, 7044GSI, L5774LT, L5794GSI, 16V275GL+), Ariel Compressors (JGK4, JGJ2, JGJ4, KBZ4, KBT4), Gemini Compressor (FS604), Ajax Compressors (DPC-2801), CAT Genset (G3406, G3412, G3520H, G3516A), Diesel Genset (C32, GEP 275-4, G3406C), Gas Turbines (Rolls Royce 501 KB5, Saturn 10), Pumps (Centrifugal, Reciprocating, Rotary PD, multi-stage, seal / non-seal), Blowers (Syndyne), Fin Fan Coolers, etc. Have strong expertise & experience in troubleshooting Electrical & Control Systems of rotating equipment as well.
- Steer overhauling activities of critical rotating equipment & provide feedback to field maintenance engineers for an arrangement of spares & services for overhauling activities.
- Monitor & Review reports pertaining to shaft alignments (using Rim & Face method, Reverse Dial method, and Laser techniques), Machining & Balancing.
- Review & Monitor availability of critical, insurance & PM spares and Special Tools of rotating equipment & advise field maintenance engineers for procurement of strategic inventory & tools.
- Review MRP of Rotating Equipment including ROP, min/max levels, etc. & provide feedback to the SCM planning team for any change in the defined MRPs. Strive towards maintaining the optimized inventory to avoid high volumes of dead inventory or stock-outs.
- Define technical specifications for requisitions in the context of equipment modifications and replacements.
- Interpret and act upon condition monitoring reports of Windrock Inspections, Vibration Analysis, Oil Analysis, ODS, Thermography Acoustic Emission, etc. to maintain and improve availability.
- Provide technical input to proposed changes under the Management of Change system.
- Participate & provide feedback during acceptance testing (SAT, FAT) of rotating equipment.
- Provide inputs to the Maintenance Planner for updates/amendments in Asset Register, SAP Equipment Master, SAP PM Plans, SAP Task Lists, and BOMs.
- Participate in multi-dimensional studies & assessments including HAZOP, HAZID, JSA/TRA, Equipment Criticality Assessments, etc.
- Prepare, Review & update MSPs, MSIs, SOPs, and JSA/TRA pertaining to Rotating Equipment.
- Develop Long Term & Short Term Maintenance Strategies, Plans & Schedule pertaining to Rotating Equipment including Pumps, Compressors, Turbines, Fans, Blowers, Motors, and Generators in coordination with the Maintenance Planner.
- Administer PM, PdM, PaM & RCM programs to optimize equipment maintenance tasks.
- Provide feedback to the Inspection Engineer for the development of Condition Monitoring Plans for critical rotating equipment.
- Develop & maintain safe operating envelop for Critical Rotating Equipment installed at operated sites.
- Provide feedback for efficient operations & tuning of operating parameters pertaining to Rotating Equipment.
- Monitor Reliability Indicators including MTBF, MTTR, MDT etc. for analysis & tuning of maintenance strategies to achieve benchmark KPIs.
- Develop Management Reports pertaining to health assessment & reliability of Rotating Equipment installed at MPCL Operated locations.
- Participate in Major Shutdowns & Turn Around planning with relevant teams.
- Prepare & Review OPEX and CAPEX Budgets pertaining to Rotating Equipment for Head Office.
- Initiate Purchase Requisitions in SAP against OPEX & CAPEX Budget for Rotating Equipment, Head Office.
- Assist Manager M&AI in driving Asset Integrity Campaigns and obtaining the desired level of safety, availability & reliability of safety & production critical equipment.
- Implementation & Nourish HSE Culture at functional locations and assisting relevant stakeholders in achieving HSE Leading & Lagging KPIs.

Qualification:
- Bachelor’s (Hons)/Master's degree in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering from an HEC-recognized institute in case of inland education.
- Minimum 08 years of experience in Maintenance & Troubleshooting of Rotating Equipment with a strong knowledge level of operational activities.
Experience:
- Hands-on experience in troubleshooting Waukesha Engines with ESM 1/2 (L36GSI, H24SE, 7044GSI S4/S5, L5774LT, L5794GSI, 16V275GL+), Ariel Compressors (JGK4, JGJ2, JGJ4, KBZ4, KBT4), Gemini Compressor (FS604), Ajax Compressors (DPC-2801 Non-LE), CAT Genset (G3406, G3412, G3520H, G3516A), Diesel Genset (Perkins, CAT C32, GEP 275-4, G3406C), Gas Turbines (Rolls Royce 501 KB5, Saturn 10), Pumps (Centrifugal, Reciprocating, Rotary PD, multi-stage), Blowers, Fin Fan Coolers, etc.
- Have strong expertise & experience in troubleshooting Electrical & Control Systems as well as rotating equipment.
- Having hands-on experience in Balancing, Machining, and Alignments Techniques.
- Have training/certification in Waukesha Gas Engine Technology & ESM.
- Preference would be given to individuals having certification of Waukesha Certified Technician for VHP / 275GL+ engines.
- Working knowledge of API (610, 617, 618, 619, 682) ISO-13373, ISO-10816, SAE JA-1101/1102, ISO-55001 standards.
- Proficient Experience in SAP PM & MM Module.
